Maison Osbert is a beautifully restored 19th-century French townhouse in the picturesque village of Liglet, La Vienne, at the heart of medieval rural France. With its blend of historic character, modern comfort and thoughtful personal touches, it offers a welcoming “home away from home.”

Steeped in history, Maison Osbert was once a bustling coaching house and later became the renowned Le Relais de la Benaize restaurant, named after the nearby River Benaize which is just a five-minute walk away. Today, it serves as a perfect retreat for families, friends and groups, offering versatile spaces for holidays, events, workshops, and wellness retreats.

Nestled close to the Brenne Regional Natural Park, Maison Osbert is an excellent base for eco-tourism adventures such as birdwatching, nature walks and exploring the region’s treasures, including the UNESCO-listed Abbey of Saint-Savin and the medieval village of Angles-sur-l'Anglin.

GUEST REVIEW

We had such a wonderful time at Maison Osbert! It had everything we were looking for. Our bedroom was beautifully decorated and comfortable with a bathroom just steps away. Downstairs was spacious yet cosy, ideal for socialising with the group of friends we were with. Communal cooking in the open plan kitchen was really fun, and the salon has a cool vintage chill-out vibe with nicely curated decor and a great sound system.
The terrace out the back is a perfect sun trap where you can sip your aperitifs, with a beautiful garden shaded by a willow tree for al fresco dining.
There’s a handy store for your essentials in the village, and a bit further afield you’ve some beautiful French towns with markets, restaurants and brocantes. We’ll definitely be back!
